Eltham Leisure Centres and Swimming Pools: The Eltham Centre, Coldharbour and Sutcliffe Park

This guide covers the public leisure centres that serve Eltham, as the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the operator publish them. Opening times and prices change, so check the centre's own page before you travel.

Who runs the leisure centres?

The council's leisure centres page lists ten sites across the borough and says all centres are operated by Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) under the Better brand. Three of them are in the Eltham area: The Eltham Centre, Coldharbour Leisure Centre at New Eltham and Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre.

The Eltham Centre

Better's page gives the address as 2 Archery Road, Eltham, SE9 1HA. For the week commencing 28 September 2026 it showed these opening times:

• Monday to Thursday: 6:15am to 10pm
• Friday: 6:15am to 9pm
• Saturday: 8am to 6:30pm
• Sunday: 9am to 5:30pm

The same page carried a service update about a later pool opening time linked to an electrical shutdown, so check it on the day.

The facilities page describes:

• three pools: a 25m main pool with eight lanes, a spa pool, and a family pool with a beach entry that gradually increases in depth to 0.9 metres
• an air-conditioned gym with cardio machines, resistance equipment and free weights
• two studios, including a group cycle studio with capacity for over 50 bikes, with instructor-led and virtual classes
• sauna and steam facilities, in a separate area with a hydro pool and Jacuzzi, which must be booked through the Better UK app by choosing book swimming, then Spa swim
• Eltham Library in the same building, which the council's libraries pages also cover (see our libraries guide)

Better's page also lists adapted facilities including accessible parking, a poolside hoist, ramp access, accessible changing and a lift. It lists paying car parking at the centre; for charges and the council's description of the Eltham Centre car park, see our parking guide.

Better says the council is carrying out works to improve the centre's carbon footprint, that some areas may close at short notice, and that updates are shared on social media and on signs at reception.

Coldharbour Leisure Centre

On Better's page, the address is Chapel Farm Road, Eltham, SE9 3LX. The listed facilities are a gym, a studio, external pitches, a cafe bar, padel courts and venue hire. A pool is not listed. For the week commencing 28 September 2026 it showed Monday to Thursday 7am to 9:30pm, Friday 7am to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm.

Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre

Better's page gives the address as Eltham Road, corner of Kidbrooke Park Road, SE9 5LW. It lists athletics tracks, athletics coaching, a gymnastics hall, soft play, Clip 'n Climb and a coffee corner, and no pool. Its opening times for the same week were shown by day, from 9am on weekdays and 8:30am at weekends, closing between 6pm and 9pm.

How do I join?

The council says you need a Greenwich One Card to join a leisure centre, a card that combines leisure centre access, library membership and local discounts, and its One Card page has the application. Better's One Card page says registering is free and can be done through the Better UK app, online or at a leisure centre or library. It also says a card taken out through the leisure service has to be activated in a library before use, and the other way round.

Each centre's page offers membership, pay as you go, day passes and corporate membership, and links to prices and a timetable, so we do not copy prices here.
